Artist Corner:

It was so nice to see the sun this weekend.   I hope everyone was able to get out and enjoy the 4th of July.

The first Bob Ross Paint N' Party will be held on Tuesday July 25 from 6:00 pm- 8:00 pm.   The painting "Sunset Sail" is pictured above and done in oils.  Coffee, tea and water will be provided but feel free to bring your own beverage (alcholic or non-alcoholic) if you wish.  Snacks will also be provided.   The cost of the class including supplies is $30.

The plan is to hold Paint N' Parties on a regular basis.   Most of the paintings will be done in oils using the Bob Ross wet on wet technique.

Paint N' Parties are not mean't to replace the full 4 - 5 hour Bob Ross classes that go in to much more detail and technique.

Painting Tips:

The script liner and tree branches.

Having trouble getting those tree branches thin enough?  It could be that you’re not adding enough thinner to the paint.   The paint should be the consistency of ink.   Dip your brush into the thinner and add to the paint as many times as needed to get that inky consistency.   Roll the brush around in the thinned paint then pull it out to get a nice point at the end.   Hold the brush loosely and you should be able to get a nice thin branch that flows easily off the brush.  If not add more thinner.   The thinner will evaporate out of the paint quickly so as you add more branches you’ll need to add more thinner to the paint.

So the next time you paint branches pretend you’re Goldilocks and make sure to use enough thinner so the paint is just right.
