Artist Corner:

I hope everyone is enjoying their summer. It goes by so quickly but fortunatly we have all the beautiful colors of fall to look forward to.

Coming up:

Saturdays Class "Birch Trees" Acrylic paints are used for the background and trees with oil glazes on top.

Tuesday, July 25th is the first Bob Ross Paint-N-Party. We'll be painting "Sunset Sail" with oils. Snacks, coffee, tea and wate will be provided.

Saturday, August 5th, "Cougar" Wildlife painting. Acrylic underpainting with oil glazes.

There's only 1 class scheduled for August.  I will be away taking training classes in Seascape painting so be prepared for a Seascape painting in September.

Painting Tips:

Keep your brushes in good condition:

A thorough cleaning of your paint brushes is important if you want to keep them in good working order.

Only use thinner to clean the Bob Ross Landscape Brushes. They're made of natural hair and if cleaned with water the bristles puff out and ruin the shape of the brush.

Wipe out as much paint as you can with a paper towel before you put it in the thinner. It will help the thinner last longer.

Only beat the 1" and 2" Landscape, the oval brush and round brushes on the beater rack. The smaller brushes can be dried using just the paper towel. Get as much paint and thinner out of the brushes as you can.

Lay the brushes flat while they are drying.

Quote of the Day:

"...that may be the true joy of painting, when you share it with other people. I really believe that's the true joy."
