June Paintings:

  • "A Walk in The Woods"   Instead of a Cabin we'll be adding a couple of children walking down a path.
  • "Arctic Beauty" This is done in Lavendars and Blues on a Black canvas.
  • "The Tree Amigos:  We had some baby foxes down at the bottom of our road so I decided to paint a few.

Painting Tips

Having trouble with highlights on Mountains?  IF you keep adding  highlights and lose all the dark scrape it out and start again.   Rather than putting the mountain color back in with the knife use the brush to add the dark.  Then go back and add the highlights.  You want the paint to break as you pull it down the mountain but if it doesn't just leave it alone.  The more you go over the highlights the less likely the paint will break.  Mountains take practice so don't be discouraged.  Take a black canvas and just do highlights until you get the paint to break.  Don't worry, you'll get there!

Happy Painting,

Janice

Quote of the Day

"It's very easy to add more color, but it's a son of a gun to try to take it off."
