Painting Bug News |
Did you know that Painting is not only fun, it is a great way to relax and relieve stress? A study by Drexel University examinging the effects of Painting and other creative arts help with depression giving people new energy and a feeling of accomplishment and pride by not only reducing the symptoms of stress but also helps with depression. Bob Ross always said: Everyone can paint. His step by step, wet-on wet technique is easy to learn and as we all know when we're painting we don't think of anything but putting the brush to canvas and creating our own world. So if you're having a bad week at work or just need to relieve some stress take a Bob Ross class. You'll be glad you did. Artist Tip: Mountains: When adding the highlights to Mountains be sure to get a small even roll of paint on the knife and use very, very little pressure. The snow should break as you pull down. Also, don't put your finger on the blade, It makes for to much pressure and you won't be able to pull down the paint without leaving a scratched edge and too much paint. Hold the knife between the thumb and forefinger. It may feel like it'll fall out of your hand but that's fine, it means you're holding it correctly and you'll be more successful when applying highights.
